Raipur, May 31: The office of Chhattisgarh Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap has transitioned to a fully paperless system as part of an initiative to promote environmentally sustainable and technology-driven governance.
Under the new system, all administrative processes, including the handling of departmental files and official correspondence, will be conducted exclusively through the digital e-Office platform.
Describing the initiative as the creation of a "green office", Kashyap said every aspect of office functioning would now be managed digitally.
While the minister's office had already been receiving digital files from various departments for approvals, the latest directive extends the process to all outgoing communications, orders and official dispatches.
"The entire correspondence mechanism of the minister's office is now being carried out digitally," Kashyap said.
According to the minister, the transition is aimed not only at improving administrative efficiency but also at reducing the environmental impact of government operations.
He said the move would help lower paper consumption, reduce fuel usage and minimise unnecessary vehicle movement associated with physical file transfers and official communication.
"The initiative is also intended to promote an environmentally sustainable work culture within government offices," he said.
Apart from adopting a paperless workflow, the minister's office has introduced several additional eco-friendly measures. These include giving priority to virtual meetings, improving energy efficiency and encouraging resource conservation practices.
Kashyap said the reforms would help make governance more transparent, efficient and result-oriented.
The minister also credited the state leadership for encouraging modernisation and sustainability initiatives across government departments, stating that the paperless office model aligns with broader efforts to integrate technology into public administration while reducing environmental impact.
