Mumbai, Jun 5: Actress Esha Deol has showered praise on her brother Bobby Deol following the release of his latest film Bandar, describing him as “the finest actor today” and applauding his powerful performance in the critically acclaimed drama.

After attending a special screening of the film in Mumbai, Esha took to social media to congratulate Bobby and express her admiration for his work in the Anurag Kashyap directorial.

Sharing a photograph featuring Bobby and his wife Tanya Deol, Esha wrote, “You are in the best form ever. Undoubtedly the finest actor today. Enduring and vulnerable. Way to go, bhaiya.”

She also encouraged audiences to watch the film, adding, “Go watch Bandar.”

Bobby later reposted the message on his Instagram Stories.

Directed by Anurag Kashyap and produced by Nikhil Dwivedi’s Saffron Magicworks, Bandar is inspired by real-life events and features Bobby in a challenging lead role. The film also stars Sanya Malhotra, Saba Azad, Sapna Pabbi, Indrajith Sukumaran, Raj B Shetty and Jitendra Joshi.

The crime thriller revolves around an ageing television star whose life takes a dramatic turn after he faces allegations of sexual assault by a former girlfriend. The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2025 before hitting theatres on June 5.

Speaking about the project earlier, Bobby said Bandar allowed him to explore a character unlike any he had portrayed before and credited Kashyap for helping him deliver one of his most nuanced performances.

Following Bandar, Bobby is set to appear in Alpha, the upcoming instalment of Yash Raj Films’ Spy Universe. The action entertainer, directed by Shiv Rawail, also stars Alia Bhatt, Sharvari and Anil Kapoor and is scheduled for release on July 3.
