CJP to stage Delhi protest over NEET row

Daijiworld Media Network - New Delhi

New Delhi, Jun 6: Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), is expected to arrive in India from the United States on Saturday to lead a peaceful protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over examination-related lapses, including the alleged NEET-UG paper leak.

The CJP, which began as a satirical campaign following remarks by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant that led to the "cockroaches" reference in the examination controversy, has reportedly gained significant traction on social media.

The outfit claims to have attracted support from students and aspirants frustrated by recurring controversies surrounding competitive examinations. However, it remains to be seen whether the online backing can be converted into an organised movement on the ground.

Ahead of the proposed protest, a Delhi Police official told PTI that the force had not received any request from the Cockroach Janta Party seeking permission to hold a gathering at Jantar Mantar.

The protest is aimed at highlighting alleged irregularities in national-level examinations, particularly the NEET-UG paper leak controversy, which triggered widespread debate over the integrity of the examination system and accountability within the education sector.

Further developments are expected following Dipke's arrival in the national capital and any decision by authorities regarding the proposed demonstration.
