Chennai, Jun 9: The makers of actor Vikram’s highly anticipated action entertainer, tentatively titled #Chiyaan63, officially commenced shooting on Tuesday, marking the start of another ambitious collaboration in Tamil cinema.

Announcing the development on social media, Sathya Jyothi Films confirmed that the film has gone on floors under the direction of Anand Shankar.

In its announcement, the production house described the project as one powered by “passion and energy,” while sharing its excitement about beginning work with Vikram in the lead role.

The film has been generating considerable buzz ever since it was officially unveiled on Vikram’s birthday earlier this year. At the time, the makers released a specially crafted “First Flame” teaser that offered audiences a glimpse into the actor’s intriguing character.

The teaser suggested that Vikram plays a cook, but one with a mysterious and dangerous side. The video featured a tense setup in which armed men attempt to confront the character, only to discover that he is far more formidable than he appears. Despite explosions and threats surrounding him, the protagonist remains calm and composed, hinting at a high-octane action narrative.

Adding to the excitement, actress Riya Shibu was recently announced as part of the cast.

The film’s story has been written by director Anand Shankar, while production is being handled by producers Sendhil Thyagarajan and Arjun Thyagarajan.

The technical team includes acclaimed composer Santhosh Narayanan for music, cinematographer R. D. Rajasekhar behind the camera, and production designer Rajeevan. Dialogues have been penned by Shan Karuppusamy, while editing duties are being handled by Raymond Derrick Crasta. Costumes for the film are designed by Poornima Ramaswamy.

The project is one of the four films Vikram announced earlier this year with filmmakers he greatly admires. In a social media post in February, the actor revealed that he had spent time carefully selecting scripts and was preparing to embark on four distinct cinematic journeys.

Among those projects, the collaboration with Anand Shankar has emerged as one of the most eagerly awaited, with fans keen to see the duo reunite for what promises to be a stylish action-packed entertainer.

With production now underway and a strong creative team in place, #Chiyaan63 has officially begun its journey from concept to screen.
