Mumbai, Jun 11: The makers of Alpha, the latest instalment in the YRF Spy Universe, have unveiled the film’s first teaser, offering a glimpse of Alia Bhatt in a high-octane action role alongside Sharvari.
Directed by Shiv Rawail, Alpha marks the first female-led film in Aditya Chopra’s ambitious spy franchise and also features Bobby Deol in a pivotal role as Baba, the mentor of Alia’s character, Sita.
The teaser begins with a continuation of events hinted at in the post-credit scene of War 2, where Baba is seen initiating a young Sita into the secretive Alpha programme. On her 18th birthday, Sita shares a celebratory dinner with her mentor, only to discover that the occasion is less about her coming of age and more about her induction into the world of espionage.
Baba presents her with a small box containing details of her first mission, officially launching her journey as a spy. Though initially disappointed, Sita quickly embraces her role as the teaser shifts into a series of intense action sequences.
Alia Bhatt is shown taking on multiple adversaries in hand-to-hand combat, displaying ruthless efficiency and combat skills. The teaser portrays her character as a highly trained operative capable of eliminating enemies with ease, culminating in a dramatic moment where she casually shoots an opponent before exchanging smiles with her mentor.
The film also stars Sharvari in a key role, while Anil Kapoor is set to reprise his character from War 2, further strengthening the interconnected storyline of the YRF Spy Universe.
Alpha joins a successful franchise that includes blockbuster titles such as Pathaan, War, and the Tiger series. The film is directed by Shiv Rawail, who previously earned acclaim for the web series The Railway Men.
The project had faced multiple release delays. It was initially scheduled to hit theatres in April but was later postponed. The film is now slated for a theatrical release on July 3, adding another chapter to Yash Raj Films’ expanding spy universe.
