Bengaluru, Jun 12: Mangaluru, Jun 12: Barke police have arrested Anita Kasaragodu for allegedly posting derogatory and provocative messages about the Bunt and Billava communities on social media. She was produced before a court on Thursday.
According to reports, Anita Kasaragodu had been making disparaging remarks about the Bunt and Billava communities for several days and had also issued challenges through her social media posts. A video circulated by her on social media had triggered widespread outrage.

A complaint against her was lodged at the Barke police station by Rakesh Poojary of the Biruver Kudla organisation. In connection with the case, police examined the social media posts, gathered technical evidence, and subsequently arrested her. Further investigation is underway.
Anita Kasaragod had reportedly travelled to Bengaluru and was staying at her sister's residence. Police traced her location through mobile phone tracking and arrested her in Bengaluru. She was subsequently brought to Mangaluru and produced before the court on Thursday.
The court remanded her to judicial custody.
