Murudeshwar, Jun 15: Police have arrested a Gujarat native in connection with a house break-in theft and a motorcycle theft reported under the Kundapur Police Station limits.
The arrested accused has been identified as Lalajibhai Budhabhai Solanki (37), a resident of Savar Kundla taluk in Amreli district of Gujarat.
According to police, thieves had broken into a house near Sangam Junction in Kundapur on the night of March 18 and stolen cash amounting to Rs 10,000. A case in this regard had been registered at the Kundapur police station. On the same day, another case was registered after a motorcycle parked near Vinay Hospital in Kundapur was stolen.

During the investigation, police traced the accused's address and travelled to Savar Kundla in Amreli district, Gujarat. While searching for him there, they received information that he was staying in Murudeshwar in Uttara Kannada district. Acting on the tip-off, police took him into custody at Murudeshwar and interrogated him.
During questioning, the accused confessed to committing the house theft and motorcycle theft in Kundapur. Police have recovered the stolen motorcycle from his possession.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of Kundapur DySP H D Kulkarni and Kundapur police station inspector Jayaram D Gowda. The team comprised PSIs Nanjanayak N and Pushpa, along with staff members Mohan, Santosh, Prince, Mahabala Shettigar, Santosh Devadiga and Ghanshyam.
