Mangaluru, Jun 27: The department of Digital and Cyber Forensic, Institute of Allied Health Sciences, Srinivas University, organised a drug awareness programme on the occasion of international day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking 2026. The programme was conducted to create awareness among students about the harmful effects of drug abuse, the importance of a healthy lifestyle, and the collective responsibility towards building a drug-free society.
The programme was aligned with the national initiative ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan – Viksit Bharat Ki Pehchaan’, promoting awareness, prevention, and community participation against substance abuse.





The programme began with an awareness session highlighting the significance of international day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking. The relevance of the day and the importance of creating awareness among youth were explained by Sarath M S, assistant professor, department of digital & cyber forensic.
A detailed awareness session was conducted by Sherin Leonora, assistant professor, department of Digital & Cyber Forensic, focusing on the consequences of drug abuse, its impact on physical and mental health, social well-being, and the importance of prevention and early awareness.
As part of the programme, a drug awareness pledge was administered by Nithinkumar M, assistant professor, department of Digital & Cyber Forensic. Students actively participated in the pledge, committing themselves towards making responsible choices and supporting the vision of a drug-free society.
Certificates of appreciation were awarded to the students who participated in the pledge activity as recognition of their commitment towards spreading awareness and promoting a healthy community.
