Mangaluru, Jul 11: As part of the Vanamahotsava celebrations, Carmel School Kindergarten section observed ‘Green Theme Week’ creating awareness among the children about the importance of protecting nature and caring for the environment. A variety of engaging and age-appropriate activities were conducted throughout the week, encouraging children to develop eco-friendly values through fun and meaningful experiences.
The week began on Monday, July 6 with a green colour activity where children enthusiastically participated in classroom based creative activities centered around the colour green and its significance in nature.

On Tuesday, July 7 ‘Green Day’ was celebrated. Children arrived dressed in beautiful green attire, while parents also joined the celebration by wearing green and actively participated in taking a Pledge, expressing their commitment to protecting and preserving the environment. Children enjoyed sharing and eating healthy green-coloured snacks, making the celebration both educational and enjoyable.
The activities continued on Thursday, July 9 children participated in a ‘Nature Walk’ around the school campus exploring the greenery around, observing different plants and trees developing a greater appreciation for the beauty of nature and the environment. Children observed preparation of Healthy Salad Making demonstration by their teachers while learning about the importance of eating fresh green vegetables and maintaining healthy food habits.
The Week concluded on Friday, July 10 with a class-wise sapling plantation activity. Each class planted a sapling, giving children a hands-on opportunity to contribute towards a greener future while understanding the value of nurturing plants and protecting the environment.
Green Theme Week was a joyful and meaningful celebration that encouraged environmental awareness, healthy habits and a sense of responsibility towards nature among our young learners. The enthusiastic participation of both children and parents made the celebration a memorable success.
