Mangaluru: Bike rider killed, wife seriously injured in bus collision near Bajpe

Mangaluru, Jul 28: A 45-year-old motorcyclist was killed on the spot while his wife sustained serious injuries after a bus collided with their motorcycle near Bolody in Ekkaru on the Bajpe–Kateel State Highway 67 on Monday afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Mohammed Basheer (45). A native of Kapikadu in Kinnigoli, he was currently residing in a residential complex in Bajpe town.

According to reports, the accident occurred when a bus travelling from Kateel towards Mangaluru collided with a motorcycle coming from the Bajpe side near Ekkaru Bolody.

The impact of the collision left Basheer with severe head injuries, resulting in his death at the scene.

His wife, who was riding pillion, sustained serious injuries and was immediately shifted to a private hospital in Mangaluru, where she is undergoing treatment. Further investigation into the accident is underway.
