Daijiworld Media Network – Mumbai

Mumbai, Jul 29: Actress Rakhi Sawant has reacted strongly to Kangana Ranaut’s recent comments on Gen Z student protesters, extending support to the youngsters and questioning the remarks made by the actress-turned-politician.

Kangana had criticised the Gen Z protesters and described them as “generation gutter” in a social media post, while also making comments about young women who participated in the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP)-led protest. Responding to the remarks, Rakhi defended the students and said young girls and protesters should not be spoken about in such a manner.

In a video shared on Instagram, Rakhi questioned Kangana’s political position and criticised her comments about the youth. She asked how Kangana became a Member of Parliament and took a dig at her political journey.

Rakhi also called Kangana a “chudail” while expressing anger over her remarks about young women and students. She said the daughters and students of the country should not be targeted with such statements.

Referring to the 2024 incident in which Kangana was allegedly slapped by a CISF constable at Chandigarh airport, Rakhi brought up the controversy while warning that public reactions could follow if such comments continued.

Rakhi further challenged Kangana to move around without security and understand the influence and strength of the country’s youth. She questioned the statements made by Kangana as a parliamentarian and accused her of making negative comments about women.

The actress also referred to Kangana’s past controversies in Bollywood while criticising her remarks.

Meanwhile, Kangana had earlier shared a lengthy post on Instagram expressing disappointment over videos from the Gen Z protests. She criticised the language used by some protesters and questioned their upbringing, calling the visuals “jarring” and “crass”.

In another remark, Kangana criticised the participation of women in the protest, referring to them as “so-called westernised Indian women” and making comments about their lifestyle and values.

Her remarks triggered reactions from several sections, with Rakhi Sawant becoming one of the latest personalities to publicly respond in support of the young protesters.
