Mumbai, Jul 29: T-Series has acquired the music rights for both parts of Nitesh Tiwari's upcoming mythological epic Ramayana in a deal reportedly worth an advance of Rs 75 crore, marking one of the biggest music rights agreements in recent years.

According to industry sources, several leading music labels were in contention for the audio rights before T-Series finalised the agreement with the makers. The reported Rs 75 crore has been structured as a refundable advance, covering the soundtrack of both instalments of the film.

A source associated with T-Series said the company was confident about the soundtrack's potential and viewed the project as one of the most significant musical ventures in Indian cinema.

The film's music has already generated considerable interest as Oscar-winning composers A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer have collaborated for the first time on an Indian feature film.

Meanwhile, the makers are set to unveil the trailer on Thursday, July 30, during Brahma Muhurat at 4.15 am.

Produced by Namit Malhotra under Prime Focus Studios in association with DNEG and Yash's Monster Mind Creations, Ramayana features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana. The cast also includes Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, Rakul Preet Singh as Shurpanakha and Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi.

The two-part cinematic adaptation is planned as a global IMAX release, with the first instalment scheduled for Diwali 2026 and the second for Diwali 2027.
