Bengaluru/Mangaluru, Jul 29: Mahesh Sheka (49), proprietor of the renowned Mahesh Motors and son of noted coastal Karnataka transport entrepreneur A K Jayaram Sheka, passed away on Wednesday after a brief illness at a private hospital in Bengaluru.
His passing has sent shockwaves through the transport and business communities across coastal Karnataka, where he was widely respected for his leadership, humility and close association with the industry.

Mahesh Sheka is survived by his father, mother, wife, daughter, elder brother, elder sister and younger sister. He also leaves behind a large circle of transport entrepreneurs, business associates, friends and well-wishers.
Known for his ever-present smile, unassuming personality and warm-hearted nature, Mahesh Sheka had earned the affection and respect of colleagues and acquaintances alike. Those who knew him said his simplicity, kindness and courteous manner would remain an enduring memory.
Expressing profound grief over his demise, transport entrepreneurs from the coastal region, employees of Mahesh Motors and numerous well-wishers paid heartfelt tributes to him. They prayed for eternal peace for the departed soul and for strength and courage to his bereaved family and relatives to overcome the immense loss.
According to family sources, the last rites will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at 10 am at Jyothi Prakash Nivas, Kulashekara, Mangaluru.
