Mumbai, Mar 26 (IANS): The animator of Shah Rukh Khan's "Ra.One" was Monday battling for life after a speeding car, with an allegedly drunk driver at the wheel, rammed into the autorickshaw in which she was travelling with her sister and a friend.

Charu Khandal, 26, suffered multiple fractures and injuries to her spinal cord in the accident early Sunday. Her sister Ritu was stable as she suffered minor injuries. Her friend Vikrant Goel also suffered injuries and is under observation at hospital.

Police said a black Honda City car, allegedly being driven by a drunk driver, rammed into the rickshaw injuring the tri early Sunday at northwest Mumbai's Oshiwara locality. The accused, Manoj Kumar, was arrested by the police for rash driving and driving in a drunken state.

"He was, however, released on bail by a holiday court yesterday," an official from Oshiwara Police Station told IANS Monday.

Khandal led the animation team for "Ra.One".
