Chennai, Aug 23: Suriya-starrer Karuppu has completed 100 days in theatres, marking a major milestone for the Tamil film after a successful theatrical run. The film has reportedly crossed the Rs 300-crore mark worldwide and emerged as the highest-grossing film of Suriya’s career.
The 100-day milestone was celebrated by the film’s cast and crew, who expressed gratitude to audiences for their continued support. RJ Balaji, who plays a key role in the film, shared an emotional message on social media, describing the journey as a “fairytale” and thanking viewers for embracing the movie.
“100 days of a fairytale journey..! Different beliefs, different cultures, different generations, yet Karuppu lives on etched deep in the hearts of people across the globe,” Balaji wrote while celebrating the achievement. He described the film as a “generational blockbuster” and thanked audiences for giving it a reception beyond expectations.

Balaji further expressed his gratitude to viewers for the recognition received by the film and said he could not have asked for a better response. He also expressed hope that the journey would continue, ending his message with an affectionate reference to the film’s title character.
The makers of Karuppu also marked the occasion by thanking audiences and Suriya’s fans for standing by the film from its first show through its 100th day. The team credited the sustained audience response for the film’s long theatrical run and commercial success.
Suriya also thanked audiences for accepting and celebrating Karuppu, saying the film’s success belonged to them. The achievement adds another major commercial milestone to the actor’s career, with the film becoming his highest-grossing release to date.
Karuppu has benefited from strong word-of-mouth and sustained audience interest across different regions. Its 100-day theatrical run and reported worldwide collection of more than Rs 300 crore have further strengthened Suriya’s position at the box office.
Meanwhile, Suriya’s latest release, Vishwanath And Sons, directed by Venky Atluri, continues its theatrical run. The film features Suriya alongside Mamitha Baiju and has also received a strong response at the box office.
Suriya has several projects lined up for the coming period, including films with Aavesham director Jithu Madhavan and Jai Bhim filmmaker TJ Gnanavel.
