Hyderabad, Aug 24: Actors Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda made a joint public appearance at the engagement ceremony of producer Niranjan Reddy's son in Hyderabad recently.

The couple arrived at the venue holding hands and smiling, marking Rashmika's first public appearance since she underwent surgery for a hip injury.

For the occasion, Rashmika looked elegant in a black-and-gold lehenga featuring intricate embroidery on the dupatta, while Vijay complemented her in an all-black outfit.

Rashmika had suffered the injury while shooting for her upcoming film Mysaa. On August 3, she revealed that it was her third injury in succession and said she needed to learn to treat her body more like a human body than a machine.

She later explained that one of the four tendons connecting the hip to the leg on the right side had detached and needed to reattach before she could fully regain movement in her leg.

Rashmika said the injury occurred during a dance sequence for Mysaa, which she described as the most physically demanding film she had worked on.

Following the surgery, the actor has been recovering at home. Her latest public appearance indicates that she is gradually returning to her routine, although she has not yet resumed shooting.

On the professional front, Rashmika was last seen in the Hindi film Cocktail 2. She will next headline Mysaa, a female-led film directed by Rawindra Pulle.

She will also share the screen with Vijay Deverakonda in director Rahul Sankrityan's upcoming film Ranabaali.
