Mumbai, Aug 27: Vijay Deverakonda-starrer period action drama “Ranabaali” will now hit theatres worldwide on October 16, the makers announced on Thursday.
The film was earlier scheduled for release on September 11. Announcing the new date on social media, the makers shared the tagline, “The darkest chapter of our history opens this October.”

Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, “Ranabaali” is set against the backdrop of British colonial rule in the Rayalaseema region. The period drama draws from historical accounts, oral histories and lesser-known incidents from between 1854 and 1878.
Deverakonda plays the titular character, while Rashmika Mandanna stars as the female lead. Hollywood actor Arnold Vosloo, known for his roles in “The Mummy” and “The Mummy Returns”, is also part of the cast.
Presented by Gulshan Kumar, Bhushan Kumar and T-Series Films, the movie is produced by Mythri Movie Makers. Music and background score have been composed by Ajay-Atul.
“Ranabaali” marks Deverakonda’s second collaboration with Sankrityan after their 2018 film “Taxiwaala”. It also reunites Deverakonda and Mandanna, who have previously shared the screen in “Geetha Govindam” and “Dear Comrade”.
