Bengaluru, Aug 27: Yash-starrer Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown Ups may have opened strongly at the box office, but the film is facing growing criticism from a section of the audience, with some viewers calling it below average and urging others to cancel their tickets.
Amid the backlash, a Reddit user has claimed that ticket-booking platform BookMyShow removed the film's user rating and is now displaying only the number of likes.
The user posted screenshots showing what appeared to be a change in the way Toxic was displayed on the platform. According to the post, an earlier screenshot showed the film with a rating of 5.5 out of 10, while the current version reportedly displays only the number of likes. Ratings for other films, including Spider-Man and Batwara, were reportedly still visible.

BookMyShow has not yet responded to the claim.
The alleged change triggered several reactions on Reddit, with users questioning the film's reception and joking about its lack of positive audience response.
Toxic was initially scheduled to release alongside Dhurandhar: The Revenge on March 19. However, the makers later announced that its release had been postponed to June, citing the prevailing war situation at the time.
The release was subsequently postponed again. Yash later announced that the film would not release on June 4 and would instead arrive on a later globally aligned date.
The makers had mounted major promotional campaigns in Bengaluru and Chennai and also promoted the film at CinemaCon in an effort to build anticipation.
Despite the extensive promotions and strong opening, the film appears to have received a mixed response from viewers. It currently has a rating of 4.3 out of 10 on IMDb and 6 out of 10 on District.
Toxic crossed the Rs 100-crore mark on its opening day, according to trade estimates. The Hindi version contributed around Rs 55 crore, while the Kannada version collected Rs 23.30 crore. The Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu versions earned Rs 1.30 crore, Rs 5.50 crore and Rs 16 crore, respectively.
The film also earned around Rs 20 crore from overseas markets, taking its reported worldwide gross collection to Rs 140.75 crore.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic stars Yash in the lead role alongside Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth and Huma Qureshi, among others.
