Mangaluru, Sep 4: The Department of MSc Counselling, School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, Mangaluru, in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), is organising Scintilla 2026 – “Multiverse: Infinite Dimensions of Psychology,” a two-day national conference on September 11 and 12 at Roshni Nilaya. The conference is powered by Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL).

Scintilla 2026 brings together students, research scholars, academicians, psychologists, counsellors, and mental health professionals to explore the diverse and emerging dimensions of psychology. The conference will facilitate academic exchange, research dissemination, professional learning, and meaningful dialogue on contemporary psychological concerns.

The theme “Multiverse: Infinite Dimensions of Psychology” highlights the multifaceted nature of the human mind and experience. The conference will feature technical sessions, research paper presentations, case presentations and creative events covering areas such as Human Development, Mind and Behaviour, Human Connection, Healing and Well-being, Society and Change, and Emerging Perspectives.

The technical sessions will include Dr V Premanand on “Beyond Pathology: The Infinite Dimensions of Human Flourishing,” Dr Ajith Sankar on “Youth and Behavioural Intelligence,” and Isaac Thomas on “Climate Change and Mental Health.”

The inaugural ceremony will be graced by Prof Mathew C Ninan, director, Little Rock Indian School, Brahmavar, as chief guest, with Dr Cecilia Farida Goveas, controller of examinations, School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, presiding. The valedictory ceremony will feature Privy D’Souza as chief guest, with Dr Saritha D’Souza, IQAC Coordinator, presiding.

Adding a creative dimension are events including “Devil Wears Prada” fashion walk, “The Cosmic Divide” Dance Drama, “Mind on Canvas” painting competition, “The Final Frame” reel-making event, and “The Wolf of Multiverse” business management competition. The overall champions will be awarded with a special cash prize.

Scintilla, the flagship academic initiative of the Department of MSc Counselling, was launched in 2015 and has evolved into a national platform for learning, innovation and collaboration in psychology and mental health. The 2026 edition continues this legacy by encouraging critical thinking, creativity and diverse perspectives in psychology.

Established in 1960, the School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, is committed to excellence in education, service and social transformation. The Department of MSc Counselling, established in 2007, promotes mental well-being, reduces stigma and prepares competent and ethical counselling professionals. The institution was re-accredited with an ‘A’ Grade by NAAC in 2022.
