Mangaluru, Sep 7: St Agnes PU College celebrated Teachers’ Day on September 5. Students built excitement for Teachers’ Day by channelling their creativity into a thrilling line-up of pre-event quizzes and talent shows. The celebration served as a heartfelt tribute, honouring the incredible dedication and hard work of both the teaching and support staff.

September 5 dawned with a warm welcome by the students, who had meticulously planned a series of games and a wide range of activities and programmes to engage the teachers and make them feel appreciated. The programme commenced with a prayer, a skit, dances and entertainment galore, including the presentation of small tokens of appreciation.

The spot games brought out a playful side of the teachers, giving them a perfect chance to unwind. Laughter and team spirit filled the air as everyone jumped into the activities with great enthusiasm. Mahima Alvares and Kashish were the charismatic emcees who skillfully guided the entire event, while Rose Mary proposed the vote of thanks.

The college cabinet and students took the initiative in planning how the day would unfold and worked tirelessly to ensure that teachers were pampered and made to feel like VIPs. The principal, Sr Norine D’Souza, wholeheartedly thanked the students for the efforts taken to make the day a delightful one.

After the students’ heartfelt games and cultural programs, the PTA took charge of the celebrations with a lively variety show and entertaining games for the teachers. The event concluded with a sumptuous fellowship meal hosted by the management in honour of teachers.

The celebration was a memorable one, reflecting the deep respect and affection the students and the PTA members have for the teachers. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Vijayalakshmi, lecturer in physics, who acknowledged the efforts of Vinutha D'Souza, PTA vice president, Candida Fernandes, PTA joint secretary and all the PTA members in making the day a memorable one for the teachers.
