Bahrain, Oct 14: Some songs are more than just music; they are precious memories of life. The old Kannada melodies that gently accompany people through moments of happiness and sorrow have the power to revive unforgettable emotions. With the aim of bringing the sweetness of these timeless songs back to the hearts of Kannadigas, the Bahrain Kannada Sangha will organise its popular musical programme, ‘Amara Madhura Geethe’, on October 29.

A landmark in 49 years of Kannada service

For the past 49 years, the Bahrain Kannada Sangha has been spreading the fragrance of Kannada language, art, literature and culture in Bahrain and is steadily moving towards its golden jubilee. The organisation has continuously worked for the preservation and development of Kannada land, language and culture.

Honoured with a state award for its service to Kannada outside Karnataka, the Sangha also has the distinction of being the first organisation abroad to own its own Kannada Bhavan. Besides bringing Kannadigas together on a common platform, it actively works to introduce the rich heritage of Kannada to the next generation.

‘Amara Madhura Geethe’, one of the major programmes in this cultural journey, is once again ready to entertain music lovers.
