Good news for Gruhalakshmi beneficiaries, 33rd installment to be released soon

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Oct 15: The Congress government has brought cheer to the women of the state awaiting their Gruhalakshmi scheme money ahead of the Dasara festival. After a halt of a few months due to scheme revisions, the government is set to release the 33rd installment of the funds.

The Gruhalakshmi scheme, one of the five guarantee schemes implemented by the state government, provides Rs 2,000 per month to the female head of the family. The money is confirmed to be credited to the beneficiaries' accounts within the next two days as a Dasara gift. According to available information, deputy chief minister D K Shivakumar will release Rs 2,482 crore for the 33rd installment.

The recent delay in the release of funds had caused difficulties for many women, particularly the elderly who relied on the amount for medical expenses and minor household needs. Beneficiaries were frequently visiting banks to check if the money had been deposited.

Meanwhile, to prevent the misuse of funds, the state government has initiated a reverification process for the scheme with new guidelines and rules. The reassessment will be conducted under the SIR model. Although a survey is being conducted via an app, filling out an offline application has been made mandatory. Authorities are currently giving priority to bank account details, Aadhaar linkage, and ration card information during the reverification process.
