Bantwal, Oct 19: A youth was injured after being stabbed at Siddakatte Junction on the night of Sunday, October 18.

The injured youth has been identified as Prakash Poojary (30), a resident of Melugudde, Manchakallu, near Siddakatte. He has been admitted to a private hospital in Moodbidri for treatment, it is learnt.

A group of local youths is suspected to have stabbed Prakash Poojary over a trivial personal issue. It is alleged that the assailants were known to him. However, the exact reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained.

Bantwal Rural police, who received information about the incident, visited the spot and conducted an inspection.
