Shah Rukh Khan admits being extremely possessive about Gauri

Mumbai, Oct 25: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan once admitted that he was extremely possessive about his wife Gauri Khan during the initial phase of their relationship.

During their appearance on the show ‘Rendezvous with Simi Garewal’, veteran actress and host Simi Garewal spoke about the early days of the couple’s relationship, prompting Shah Rukh to open up about his behaviour as a boyfriend.

Admitting that he was a possessive lover, Shah Rukh said he was “like a dog” and would not allow his girlfriend to keep her hair open or wear a white shirt.

“I was very possessive. I was like a dog. I was downright vulgar and sick. Like if you were my girlfriend, you would not be allowed to keep open hair and wear white shirt,” the ‘Devdas’ actor said.

Confirming her husband’s account, Gauri said she had even threatened to leave him if he did not change his behaviour.

“He was disgusting, he was sick! And he had to learn because I said, ‘Okay bye, I would never see you again’,” Gauri recalled.

The couple’s love story began in 1984, when an 18-year-old Shah Rukh met 14-year-old Gauri at a friend’s party in Delhi. Initially shy and nervous around her, the two gradually got to know each other.

Their courtship was marked by several ups and downs, including periods of separation. However, they eventually found their way back to each other.

After overcoming numerous hurdles, Shah Rukh and Gauri tied the knot on October 25, 1991. Their wedding included both Hindu rituals and a Nikah ceremony, reflecting their respect for each other’s faiths.

The couple have three children: Aryan Khan, born in 1997; Suhana Khan, born in 2000; and AbRam Khan, born in 2013.
