Big B Touched by Kolkata Cricket Fans' Spirit

New Delhi, May 7(PTI): Megastar Amitabh Bachchan was touched by the way Kolkata fans expressed their love for Saurav Ganguly by playing 'Ekla Cholo Re' during the match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Pune Warriors.

The 69-year-old actor had lent his trademark baritone for famed Rabindrasangeet 'Ekla Chalo Re' for the film "Kahaani".

Ganguly played against Kolkata Knight Riders, his former team, for the first time at Eden Garden. Incidentally, it was also the first time in his cricketing career that Ganguly used the visitor's dressing room at Eden Garden.

"In the IPL at Eden garden in Kolkata... divisive emotions .. Ganguly playing in his city for another team PWI. They tell me when Saurav got out and walked back, they played 'Ekla Chalo re' from Kahani, and the entire stadium joined in and sang.

"To those that send appreciation on the playing of 'ekla cholo re' at Eden Garden ... my heart felt gratitude ..But must give it to the Kolkatans .. even though they were divided, they gave equal appreciation ... Only in Kolkata !!," he posted on Twitter.
