Mumbai: Devadiga Community Veteran Hiriyadka Dasa Serigar Passes Away

Mumbai, May 8: Eighty-nine-years-old Hiriyadka Dasa Serigar, veteran Congressman, veteran community leader of Devadiga passed away at his residence Ganesh Prasad, Hiriyadka, near Manipal, Udupi, on Friday May 4 evening.

He was the celebrity LIC agent during 1971 when T A Pai was the country’s union finance minister.  He is survived by his wife, three sons including Devadiga Sangh Mumbai president Hiriyadka Mohandas.

The mortal remains of Dasa Serigar will be placed for public homage at Devadiga Sangh auditorium, Hiriyadka at 3.00 pm on Saturday May 5 and last rites will be held at the local crematorium, informed Hiriyadka Mohandas.

Union minister M Veerappa Moily, Devadiga Sangh vice presidents Ravi S devadiga and Vasu S Devadiga, honorary chief secretary Sundar C Moily, past president K K Mohandas, former presidents Gopal M Moily, Dharmapal U Devadiga, women wing president Pushpa S Devadiga, Jayasrikrishna Parisara Premi Samiti founder president Tonse Jayakrishna A Shetty and others condoled the demise of Dasa Serigar.
