Mumbai, May 12: The 47th branch of Bharat Co-operative Bank (Mumbai) Limited was inaugurated at Kaveri Heights, Kalwa (West), Thane district, on Friday May 11.
Jaya C Suvarna, president, Billawar Association, former chairman and director of Bharat Bank, inaugurated the branch on Friday morning.
Bank chairman Vasudev R Kotian and Jaya C Suvarna inaugurated the ATM kiosk.
Deputy chairperson lawyer Rohini J Salian inaugurated the safe lockers and director Pushpalata N Salian inaugurated the banking services.
Speaking on the occasion, Suvarna said that economic growth has contributed to national development and the Bank responds to the prosperity of ordinary customers by providing world class banking facilities. He added that the Bank will extend its operations across the nation.
Kotian said that the Bank plans to open branches across the country to extend banking services and become a leading bank in the co-operative sector in the entire nation.
Entrepreneur B Srinivas, Ashok M Suvarna Thane, Dharmapal U Devadiga, Harish Mulky, Bank directors M B Kukyan, L V Amin, Raja V Salian, Jyoti K Suvarna, M B Sanil, Mohan G Poojary, Chandrashekar S Poojary, K G Raghavendra, M N Sanil, Bhaskar M Salian and Rohit M Suvarna, and CEO C R Mulky were present on the occasion.
Ashwajit Hejamady, social activists K P Suvarna, K Suresh Kumar, Dayanand R Poojary, K R Poojary, M N Karkera, S S Poojary, Ganesh Poojary Mulund, Divakar Suvarna, Kalwa Friends president Jayaprakash Shetty, Subash Alva, Karnoor Mohan Rai, Ashok Sasihitlu, Premanand Kukyan, Padmanabha Sasihitlu, and a large number of well-wishers of the bank were also present on the occasion.
Vidwan Sadashiv Shanti performed the religious rites at the new branch. Raju Karkera and Veena R Karkera were present during the ‘puja’ celebrations.
