'Mukhtasar' was originally for my Album: Wajid

Mumbai, May 21 (IANS): Composer Wajid of the famous Sajid-Wajid duo reveals that originally he had composed "Mukhtasar" for his album but decided to use it in "Teri Meri Kahaani" as the situation in the film was apt for it.

"I had originally made this composition with my album in mind. The words were different then. But when I saw the situation in the film, I thought that I can do the album whenever I want to, but this song should come in the film. Kunal Kohli (director of the film) and everyone else loved the song," said Wajid.

"Teri Meri Kahaani" is set in three generations - 1910, 1960 and 2012.

Shahid Kapoor, the lead actor of the film, said that the best thing about the song is that it focuses on individuals and not on locations.

"What's nice about the song is that we have not tried to shoot them in big locations and grand mountains, announce the fact to the world that we are shooting abroad is very boring now," the 30-year-old said.

"It takes a lot of courage for a choreographer to say that this song is not about locations, it's about two characters," he added.

Priyanka Chopra, who plays Shahid's love interest in the movie, said: "What was really cool was that we could do anything. Ahmed Khan (choreographer) just told us, this is telephone booth, do whatever you want to do or this is a bike, you are stealing it, do whatever you want. So the brief was to do whatever you want to. So, it was fun doing that song."

The film also stars Prachi Desai and is set to hit theatres June 22.
