Pune, May 30: Bank of Maharashtra is a leading nationalized bank of the country with head office at Pune, having latest IT technology and customer centric branch staff members.
As a responsible nationalized bank with social awareness and also to assist Pune Municipal Corporation being their principal bankers since a number of years, it has voluntarily come forward to offer all its network of 118 branches in Pune City to collect the property tax challans of citizens from today as a service so as to enable them to get the benefit besides reducing the workload at the ward offices.
This service is available for all citizens even if they are not the customers of Bank of Maharashtra. The bank is ready to open a separate counter at all its branches wherever required, to collect cash and drafts and cheques from the citizens. The amount so collected shall be credited to the accounts of Pune Municipal Corporation as per their advice. To clear the workload for the time being the counter at the branch shall function from morning 8 am to 8 pm, besides all holidays for public convenience till the time P M C desires in the next entire month and thereafter regular working hours of the branch, this service would be provided till the time entire work of property tax collection is completed.
The bank is ready to open a separate counter at all ward offices provided infrastructure is provided by the Pune Municipal Corporation. The counters will function for the time the Pune Municipal Corporation expects us to do so.
Ajay Banerjee, chief general manager of the bank head office, said that it is the suo motto initiative of Bank of Maharashtra with a total commitment to the fact that Pune Municipal Corporation is the valuable account of Bank of Maharashtra being their principal bankers and they want to assist the municipal corporation in their efforts to serve the citizens of Pune.
