Puttur, Jul 15: A group of Naxals visited a house at Sudegundi near Shishila in Uppinangady, on Friday July 13 evening.

Naxals visited the house around 5.45 pm in Holegundi, which is situated three kilometers away Shishila and have taken away rice, coconut and other grocery items from the house.

The group equipped with arms visited the house belonging to a farmer at Sudegundi and have taken away 50 kg rice, sugar, tea powder, chilly, coconut and others. The group consisted of four men and a woman. They entered the house and no harm has been reported.

Sources said that the Naxalites had also warned the family members not to inform police about their visit and had spent around one and half hour in the house.

It is learnt that the Naxals communicated in Tulu language and introduced themselves as Geetha, Surendra, Anand, Suresh and Chennappa. All the Naxals were aged between 25 to 30 years said family head.

The group introduced themselves as Naxals to the family and said they were residing in Kudremukh area and due torture from police they had left the place.

The news of Naxals visit reached ASP Anucheth who immediately visited the house. He said ANF police are appointed in the area and said the combatants will tackle Naxals with use of Guerrilla warfare.

Two days back a group of Naxals were spotted at Ammudange in Shishila. Police have confirmed that the same group visited Sudegundi while investigating.
