Cloudy Day in Delhi, Light Showers Expected


New Delhi, Aug 2 (IANS): It was a cloudy, pleasant morning in the capital Thursday, a day when Raksha Bandhan festival was celebrated.

The minimum temperature was recorded a notch below average at 26.3 degrees Celsius. The weather office has forecast rains later in the day.

"Generally cloudy sky with light thundershowers. The maximum temperature is likely to be around 30 degree Celsius," said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

According to IMD, the city received a total of 8.9 mm of rainfall till Thursday morning.

Humidity recorded at 8.30 a.m. was 78 percent.

Wednesday's maximum temperature was five notches above average at 29.4 degrees, while the minimum temperature was a notch below average at 26.3 degrees.
