Sydney, Aug 2 (IANS): Australia's trade deficit narrowed in June, data released Thursday by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) showed.
The balance on goods and services was a surplus of 9 million AU dollars ($9.42 million) in June, a turnaround of 322 million AU dollars ($336.92 million) on the deficit in May, the ABS said.
Economists' forecasts had centered on a deficit of 400 million AU dollars ($418.54 million) in June, reported Xinhua.
In June, exports of goods and services fell 99 million AU dollars ($103.59 million) to 26,629 million AU dollars ($27,863 million) while imports of goods and services fell 2.0 percent to 26,619 million AU dollars ($27,853 million), the ABS reported.
