Bhatkal: Town Celebrates 66 Independence Day in Fervor

Bhatkal, Aug 20: The 66th Independence Day was celebrated in Bhatkal with patriotic spirit.

Assistant commissioner Ashok Naik hoisted the tricolor at the Bhatkal Police Ground. His message to the public was to pursue the cherished objectives of our forefathers.


Students from different schools, Police and a band team marched in unison at a parade which was led by Bhatkal PSI Prakash Devadiga.

Government officers were present on the occasion. Inayatullah Shahbandari(TMC President), M Narayan(DYSP), Shiv Prakash (CPI), Anupuma(TMC Chief Officer), Parshunath Shetty(Taluk panchayat president), Chinnapa(Forest Officer),  Devidas Moger(BEO) and others were also present.

A separate flag hoisting ceremony was held at all schools, colleges, government offices, non-government organizations.

On this national day, the martyrs and freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the Independence struggle were remembered.
