Mumbai, Sep 17: Monti Fest at Immaculate Conception Church, IC Colony Borivli was celebrated by Canara Konkani Association Borivli (CKAB) ON 9th September, 5.45 pm. Programme started with the blessing of corn and offering flowers near the entrance. Then people marched on a procession to the church for a Konkani mass. Main celebrant was Fr. Nelson Saldanha, parish priest of St. Jude Church. Fr. Ronson D'Souza
of St. Louis Church Dahisar,  Fr. Melroy Mendonca of IC Church were the co-celebrants

After the mass all the people gathered at the parish hall for a cultural programme. The programme started with the prayer dance by Lorraine. Varaity Konkani entertainment programme was given by small and young children. Konkani Group song was sung by Murelle, Mariola, Ramona while Ruwena, Mariola and Murelle played key boards and Joshua, Brienna, Cleona and Lonita danced to the tune of music. Wiston, Elston, Meagan, Arlene entertained everyone with jokes. Miss Alisha compered programme beautifully

Fr. Bartolo Baretto, Fr. Vincent Barboza, Fr. Oscar Mendonca, Chairman of the association Mr. Albert W. D'Souza, Vice Chairman George D'Souza, Secreatary Charles D'Cunha and treasurer Robert Tauro were also present

There was a traditional Novem Jevonn after the Konkani Cultural programme. 'Kobu' (sugarcane) as a part of the tradition was distributed to all.
