Washington, Oct 9 (IANS): An elementary school in the US state of Oklahoma was briefly locked down after a teacher found a loaded gun in his chair, media reports said.
Police in Moore city said the teacher found the handgun in his chair after he arrived at the Plaza Towers Elementary School for work Monday, Xinhua reported citing local TV channel NewsOn6.
Classes resumed after a brief lockdown to allow police to search the building to make sure there were no other weapons.
Police said there was a substitute teacher in the school Friday, but they believe that the substitute teacher did not bring the gun.
Police were searching through surveillance video to find out how the gun ended up in the room.
