Los Angeles, Oct 10 (IANS): Actor Matthew Fox says his serial killer look in his forthcoming film "Alex Cross" scared his mother.

The 46-year-old plays the role of a killer who can predict the next step of the police department and thus it becomes difficult for the cops to catch him. The actor's physique left his mother worrying for him.

"When I started losing all the weight she would see me - because she lives in the same town - and it was really hard for her. She would gasp and say, 'Oh my God, can I feed you?'," dailystar.co.uk quoted him as saying.

The actor had to work very hard and says by the end of shooting he was left emotionally drained.

"It was a lot of work. It required five months of not eating the things that I like to eat like not having a glass of wine with dinner, a lot of time at the gym and just real commitment to it and not cheating. When we were done shooting I was emotionally pretty spent.

Directed by Rob Cohen, actor Tyler Perry played the lead role of Alex Cross. The movie is slated to release Oct 19.
