Vinnie Jones Cries Foul, says Kissing Episode was Honey Trap

Moscow, Oct 14 (IANS): Former footballer-turned-actor Vinnie Jones was caught kissing Russian singer Lama Safonova here, but says he was set up.

"I am humiliated, embarrassed and very sorry for this incident. It was a complete set-up, the whole thing," dailymail.co.uk quoted him as saying.

The 47-year-old, known for his role in "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels", says he was trapped by his interpreter Olive, who introduced Safonova to him as his girlfriend.

"Her boyfriend was the interpreter, so it's just a joke. 'I've seen (the pictures), I know what they look like. I met her for 15 minutes, just went for a drink at a party and that was it. She was there and my interpreter introduced me to her as his girlfriend. His name was Oliver," he said.

According to Jones, Oliver later disappeared from the scene and met them at the hotel where the three were staying.

"We got a lift back to the hotel because we were staying in the same hotel - that was the stitch-up. When we got to the hotel, the boyfriend was in the foyer," Jones said.

The actor, who is married to Tanya Terry for the past 18 years and has two children, is worried about his family right now.

"I totally love my wife Tanya and my two children. I am very sorry and my only concern right now is them," he said.

Tanya was said to be "mortified" by the images although she appears to have accepted his explanation.

Safonova's spokesperson refused to comment over the claims of a set up, but denied that she has a boyfriend.
