Dubai, Nov 12: In continuation of its efforts to be with Kannadigas all over the world, Dhwani Prathisthana, will launch a literary e-journal titled www.dhwanionline.com, a website monthly catering to the needs of readers all over the world who are eager to read and know the contemporary literature and theatre activities in Kannada language.
The first edition is all set to go online, with quality articles variety of subjects from Vivek Shanbhag, the late M Vyasa (couretsy: Dr Vardaraj Chandragiri), Dr Basavaraj Saadara, Dundiraj, Manu Baligar, Dr Na Da Shetty, Dr M Vekataswamy, Dr Giriraja Shastri, Dr Bharat Kumar Polipu, Dr Karunakar Shetty and others. It will also sparkle with artwork from Madhusudan Kumar, Pundalik Kalliganur, Jagadish Ammunje and Mr Ganesh Rai. The cultural and literary e magazine will be edited by Prakash Rao Payyar.
The website will be dedicated to general public on November 16 at Kannada Sahitya Parishtat auditorium, Bangalore in a simple programme at 5.45 pm. The e-journal will be dedicated to the world by eminent Kannada critic Dr H S Raghavendra Rao . Senior Politian P G R Sindhya will preside over the function. Poet B R Lakshmana Rao, senior stage artist H G Somashekhar Rao, Vaijayanthi Kashi, president of Karnataka Music and Dance Academy, Srinivas G Kappanna ex-Karnataka Nataka Academy will be the chief cuests.
The programme is being arranged by Pampa Cultural Association, Bangalore and will be conducted by well-known stage and cine artist Venkataraju.
Dhwani Pratishthana has always been in pursuit of Kannada activities outside Karnataka . Dhwani’s efforts are on to organize maximum Kannada activities involving Kannadigas living around the world.
Dhwani Pratishthana in a span of glorious twenty five years of existence have organised series of activities in Mumbai since the year 1985 and from the year 2003 in UAE. Though theatre activities were the main focus during the earlier years, Dhwani has also conducted literary competitions, seminars and published books as well.
Recently Dhwani organised the first ever Kannada Sahitya Sammelana in UAE under the leadership of noted Kannada poet Chennaveera Kanavi in the year 2010 and also the first ever Chutuku Sahitya Sammelana under the leadership of noted Chutuku poet Dundiraj in the year 2011.
