Udupi: St Anne's Church Celebrates Annual Feast with Grandeur - Pics & Video

Udupi, Dec 14: St Anne's Church, Thottam celebrated its annual feast on December 11 and December 12 with much joy and splendour.

Alwin Barnes, Vincentina Barnes, Aloma and Alifa Barnes from Fathima Ward were the main sponsors ('Pirjent') of the feast this year.

A grand procession was taken on December 11 evening from Sarvajanika Ganeshotsava Ranga Mandir to the Church.

During the procession St Anne's miracle statue along with the sponsors of the feast were led to the Church, accompanied by music bands.

After the procession, a religious ceremony was held at the Church. A fireworks display after the ceremony enthralled the crowd.

On the annual Parish Day, at 9:30 am the parish priest welcomed the feast sponsors to the church. Soon after, the  parishioners along with the parish priest Fr Fredrick D'Souza welcomed the first bishop of the Udupi diocese Dr Gerald Issac Lobo.

A grand mass was offered by the Udupi bishop. Fr Stany B Lobo, parish priest of Milagres Cathedral Kallianpur, Fr Fredrick D'Souza, Fr Antony Serrao from Bendor Church, Fr Alban from Kalmady parish, Fr Edwin from Kolalgiri parish, Fr Prakash from Milagres Cathedral, Fr Valerian Mendonca from Barkur parish and many other parish priests concelebrated the Mass.

After the Mass, the Bishop was honoured by the parish priest, Catholic Sabha president, Sthree Sanghatan president, choir group, and many others.
