Mangalore: Bike Accident Kills One, Injures Four

Mangalore, Dec 29: One person was killed and four other were injured in an bike accident which took place on the Kalladka-Kanhangad state highway near Adyanadka on Friday December 28.

The incident took place when a bike plying from Vittal to Adyanadka tried to overtake resulting in a collision with another bike plying from Adyanadka near Marakinni government hospital.

Vasanth Nayak (36), Panjikallu resident who was travelling from Vittal died on spot. The other bike rider Krishna Nayak (31) was travelling along with his wife Sunanda (27), daughter Ashwini (4), son Krishna (1). Among them, Krishna Nayak is badly hurt on his leg and other members escaped with minor injuries.

The accident occured due to the negligence of Vasanth Nayak, said an eyewitness.

A case has been registered at the Vittal police station.
