Udupi, Dec 29: The annual feast of Holy Family parish, Brahmavar was celebrated on Wednesday December 26 and Thursday December 27.
Fr Pretish, Bishop Secretary of Mangalore Diocese was the main celebrant of Vespers celebrations held on Wednesday December 26 night.
Fr Pretish in his homily said that God’s Word is light and path in ones life. Human life is build on his word. Holy Bible will tell us, guide us and it wills show how to lead life which god wants.
Fr Valerian Mendonca chancellor Udupi Diocese, Fr Stany B Lobo, parish priest and Kallianpur deanery vicar, many priests from the deanery and neighboring parishes also joined in the Eucharistic celebrations. Vespers celebrations were concluded with adoration to Holy Sacrament on the occasion. A large number of parishioners and people from in and around attended the celebrations.
An attractive display of fireworks was also held after the holy mass at the parish grounds, which was sponsored by Wilfred and Shalet Lewis Matpady, New York, USA.
Brahmavar parish priest Fr Antony Vaz presented the blessed candles to the Raymond Pinto and Family for coming forward to celebrate the feast and to showered Gods Blessing on them. Along with them all the families, who annually contributed towards parish burse were honored.
Fr Denis presided over the grand festal Eucharistic celebrations along with Brahmavar parish priest Fr Antony Vaz, Fr Wilson Andrade, Fr Dominic, Fr Denis Prakash, Fr Victor, and many priests from the deanery and neighboring parishes were present during the holy mass.
Fr Denis in his Homily said, " on the occasion of celebrating the Holy Family Feast we have to take them as our family role model. We have to follow the life how Jesus Mary Joseph Laid their life as ordinary people. They are inspirations to our life. Today traditional values and culture is vanished in our daily life. Everything is artificial today. And ones life is became easy because of all artificial things."
From our survival it shows that day by day we are becoming alone in our life and feeling loneness in life and at the end we will end our life with suicide which proves the survive. Entire world is filled in our body but when it comes to spiritual life or religious life we want everything the easy way, he added.
Fr Antony Vaz thanked all the donors who contributed for the annual feast. The holy mass on confraternity Sunday December 23 was offered by Fr Sunil.
In the evening various culture programs were staged by the ICYM and YCS members. Khavali was performed by Vivita D’souza and Antony Barnes with the help of ICYM and YCS members. After that “Swarthi somsara” written by Robert Furtado, Sastan was staged by the parishioners.
