Mangalore: Police Make Fresh Arrest in Home Stay Case

Mangalore, Jan 5: Police have made yet another arrest in connection with the infamous Padil home stay case where young boys and girls were assaulted by a group on July 28, 2012.

The arrested has been identified as Ramalkatte Udaya of Thumbay.

He was arrested by Kankanady rural police on Saturday January 5.

With this, the total number of arrests in the case has mounted to 35. Journalist Naveen Soorinje was arrested on November 7, sparking protests in various quarters, while TV cameraman Sharan was taken into custody earlier this week.

None of the accused have been granted bail so far.
