Udupi, Jan 31: Two athletes Ujwal Kiran and Latha Kumari brought laurels to Dr TMA Pai Hospital, Kasturba Hospital and the entire country proud by winning silver medals in Javelin throw in the 35 years category and 5 km walk in the 40 years category respectively at the 17th Asia Masters Athletics Championships held recently in Taipei, Taiwan.
The athletes were felicitated by the management and staff of Kasturba Hospital.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr M Dayananda, medical superintendent said, “It is a proud moment for Manipal that two of our staff members have won silver at Asian Meet.”
Dr Dayananda congratulated them for their never-say-die attitude, hard work and will power and the will to win. “It was because of these qualities in them that they could defeat competitors from other countries”, he said.
He encouraged them to work hard and produce better results in the coming years.
