M'lore: Young girl, motorcyclist killed in separate accidents

Mangalore, Feb 24: A young girl and a motorcyclist were killed in two separate accidents here on Saturday, February 23.

According to the reports, a young girl identified as Pooja (12) of Haveri was killed while she was crossing the road at Kankanady here.

The mishap took place when an Innova car knocked her down near Kankanady old police station at around 4.15 pm in the evening.

It is said that the girl was trying to reach her mother who was waiting at the other side of the road. Pooja was the daughter of Dharmegowda of Haveri was studying in the 6th standard.

A case has been registered in East traffic police staion.

In another accident that occurred in the outskirts of the city, Sandesh (19) was killed after he was knocked down by a private bus near Vamanjoor circle.

Sandesh was a resident of Vamnjoor.

According to the police, the speeding private bus rammed into the victim’s motorcycle from behind and killed him on the spot. A case has been registered.

    Everyday accidents in Mangalore. Either roads are bad or over speeding. Strict Law to be maintained.

    Its high time we introduce the Gulf system where in Blood money has to be given by the culprit to the victims family for murder or accidents .. Atleast any one will think hundred times..
