BJP calls for decisive change in Lok Sabha polls

New Delhi, Mar 3 (IANS): The Bharatiya Janata Party Sunday accused the United Progressive Alliance government at the centre of leaving behind a legacy of insecurity and suffering, and called for decisive change in a resolution adopted Sunday.

In the political resolution adopted at the party's national council meeting here, the BJP charged the United Progressive Alliance government of indulging in "rampant corruption," and said it was leaving behind an "insecure India", a "suffering India".

The BJP also called for the expansion of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

"The UPA is leaving a legacy of 'insecure India' and 'suffering India'. India needs to be redeemed by the NDA under the leadership of BJP. It is time to awaken the country, expand the NDA and generate a hope for decisive change, whenever election is held," the resolution said.

It said people fondly recalled the Vajpayee-led NDA government which left a legacy of "hope, enthusiasm, tangible growth, participation, good management of price rise and overall feeling of goodwill."

The resolution said most NDA-ruled states had recorded a growth rate of over 10 percent. Addressing the youth, it said the BJP would give India its rightful place in the comity of nations with all-round inclusive growth.

"The choice is clear - to relieve the country of the misery and misrule of the Congress-led UPA, the BJP-led NDA, with its exemplary record of governance, is the only alternative. The national council calls upon all party workers to dedicate themselves fully towards this goal," the resolution said.
