I don't make films in a hurry: Vamsi

Chennai, Mar 13 (IANS): Having made 24 Telugu films in a little over three decades, southern director Vamsi, who is currently busy working on his 25th Telugu romantic-drama "Love", says he never makes films in a hurry.

"I don't see the need to make films in a hurry because I am not competing with anybody. What is most important is that one could take all the time during pre-production phase of a film, but not after having started working on the project," Vamsi told IANS.

"Moreover, If I'm concerned about giving a satisfying output, then I may as well take time before I start working on the film," he added.

He spent nearly two years on the screenplay for "Love".

"My last film didn't do well at the box-office and, therefore, I decided to take time in penning down my next script and I believe it was worth it. We have already started shooting and will most likely wrap up soon," he said.

Ajmal Ameer plays the lead in the film, which features five debutante heroines.

"We have completed about two weeks of shooting in Hyderabad. Vamsi sir is taking efforts to mix good proportion of romance and drama into the narrative. The story is set in a small colony in Andhra Pradesh," Ajmal told IANS.

Chakri has been roped in to compose the music of the film. "Love" is produced by Poorna and has cinematography by M.V. Raghu.
