Rio de Janeiro, Apr 5 (IANS/EFE): Brazilian singer Daniela Mercury, one of her country's most popular female musical artists, revealed that she is in a lesbian relationship with journalist Malu Verçosa.
"Malu is now my spouse, my family and my inspiration for singing," the 47-year-old star said on Instagram in a post including photographs of the couple.
Both women are wearing wedding rings in one of the images.
Mercury, the mother of two grown children, got a divorce late last year from her second husband, Italian publicist Marco Scabia.
With more than 20 million albums sold worldwide, Mercury is known for hits such as "O Canto da Cidade", "Rapunzel", and "Musica de Rua".
