Mangalore, May 2
:  “What has BJP done in the last five years? In 50 years what has Congress done for the betterment of minorities, backward class and Dalits? Both Congress and BJP are the same. Their flag is different but their ‘agenda’ is the same,” said Dr Dwarkanath, former chairman of Backward Class Commission.

He was addressing a press meet held in the city on Wednesday May 1.

“BJP is a serpent which is noticeable to us but Congress is a serpent which hides amidst the grass. Both are equally dangerous. Hence it is time to bring about a political change in Karnataka. Congress speaks about minority reservation, Tipu University, only during the elections. If Congress was really concerned about the minorities, why hasn’t it implemented the Sachar Committee report, Ranganath Committee report? Congress has failed to implement them. It has no concern for Dalits, minorities and backward class. Unfortunately even some litterateurs support Congress,” he said.

“In Uttar Pradesh, BSP provided 90 lac acres of land for the poor. BSP is the only party which is concerned about the Dalits, minorities and backward class. Hence people should support SDPI candidate because SDPI and BSP are like-minded parties,” he added.

Aboobakar Kulai, Abdul Jalil, president of SDPI, Shashikala, BSP district vice president, Shashidhar, district president, Akbar Ali, district general secretary of SDPI, Hanif Khan, state vice president of SDPI were present on the occasion.
