Barry Gibb left brother's side for granddaughter's birth

London, Jul 7 (IANS): Singer-songwriter Barry Gibb had to make a tough decision to leave his dying brother Robin to be with his son and his wife during granddaughter’s birth.

Robin, who was battling with cancer, took his last breath at a medical centre in 2012.

His elder brother Barry was in Florida when he was informed about Robin’s death.

"We'd (Barry and his wife Linda) had to leave Robin in hospital two days before (he died), because our son Travis and his wife Stacy were about to have our granddaughter, Taylor. They needed our support. The attention of Mum and Dad. So, from birth to death. It was such a dichotomy,” dailystar.co.uk quoted the 66-year-old as saying.
