Fortunate to work with Rishi Kapoor: Arjun Rampal

New Delhi, Jul 16 (PTI): Actor Arjun Rampal feels fortunate to be sharing the screen space for the first time with veteran star Rishi Kapoor in upcoming film 'D-Day'.

The movie sees Rampal as an Indian Armed Forces officer while Rishi plays the baddie named Goldman. Directed by Nikhil Advani, the film hits the theatres this Friday.

"Rishi Kapoor is a phenomenal actor, he has brought realism to his character. His performance is worth watching. I have been fortunate to work with him," Rampal told reporters here.

This is 40-year-old actor's second release this year after 'Inkaar'.

Rampal, who is playing an Indian Armed Forces officer in the film, said he took up the role after a lot of contemplation.

"I feel very proud after watching the movie. My decision to do it has been hundred per cent worth it. When Nikhil wanted to make this film, he wanted to present a different kind of thriller which has realism, commercial sense and an edge... I think we have achieved that," the actor added.

Rampal says he worked hard to get the right look for his character.

"We really worked hard on the costumes. We were shooting in Karachi so I had to look like them."

The movie also stars Irrfan Khan, Shruti Haasan, Sandeep Kulkarni and Huma Qureshi in lead roles.
